Huge News!

Something we’ve been working on for a little while now:

Dogs In Gear is now a Canadian distributor (and still a reseller of course) of Musher’s Secret paw wax.

This is a big step for us as a company. It puts us in a position to help get such an awesome Canadian made  product on the paws of more dogs and in the hands of more people.

We’re still getting our dogs in a row for distributing but we really wanted to share this news. :)

Disc dog trial in Truro this past weekend.

Just wanted to drop a quick note thanking everyone for their support at the disc dog trail at the Agridome this past weekend.

Thanks to Rob for having us and a very big thank you to all the customers for supporting us. Always enjoy seeing new and familiar faces!

It’s the interaction with people that make the business so worth while.  Seeing people active and enjoying working with their dogs and knowing that the service we strive to provide helps in some way makes us feel good and makes us work harder.

See you in March if we don’t see you sooner!

Thank you and Happy New Year!

I just wanted to take a minute to thank everyone.  2011 was our best year ever!  After three years in business things are really picking up.  Thank you!   It gives us great joy to think of the the dogs out there whose lives are a little fuller because of the activities they are doing with their people and gear that came from our store.

Looking forward to 2012!

- Steph

And here it is!

Embroider your name or dogs name on your harness, walking belt, etc.

5 dollars if it’s done at the time of the making of the item (previous customers and orders will be grandfathered in to this)

10 dollars if it’s done after the fact or isn’t our product. (IE: buy a harness now and a few months down the road want something put on it)

Here’s a picture of the available fonts. Colours are basically unlimited – if we don’t have it in we’ll look for it.

FUMBLE!

That’s the sound of me dropping the ball.

I realized I never did a write up for the Cobequid Dog Show!

Here it is – a little (lot) overdue.

The Cobequid Dog Show was held at the Agridome on the Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition Grounds in Bible Hill.

First, a picture of our table set up:

Snazzy!

This was our second actual dog show (we’ve been to a few expos) and it was nice to have a better idea of what was going on. Not to mention the chance to see so many dogs!

It was great to see familiar faces and meet new people. A lot goes in to preparing a dog, handling them, helping them get ‘show ready’. In some cases that means keeping the dogs away from others before they go on. Some people practice showing in an open area, others hide from their dogs so they won’t get excited when they see their owner.

One of the things we really enjoy is the double take people do when they see the Pawtrekker scooter. Usually that’s followed by either “Wow, that’s neat” or “oh that’s not a bike.” After that we spend as much time as the person wants explaining the features and answering their questions.

Another thing that’s really pleased us is the interest in our custom harnesses. The Hunter Orange was really popular since we were heading in to hunting season as well as the Nova Scotian tartan.

The HyperFlite discs were also a hit. A few people recognized the brand and it was nice to get feedback on them.

The Agridome was a wonderful place for them to hold the show – previous years, we were told, was held in the riding ring a building over.

Add this one to the list of shows we want to go back to year after year, and we hope to see you there!
