Years ago we got a backpack for our Malamute. His whole demeanor
changed when he put it on. He became “responsible doggy”. He held his head high.
He had a job to do – a meaningful way to contribute to his family. Those packs made him happy. His joy was our joy.
I hope he gets to wear a backpack in doggy heaven.
Now we have two young Malamutes. Casey has inherited the backpack. But we wanted
to give them more to do. They are sled dogs, so they should pull. MUSH! But, you can’t just go to
the pet store and buy a sled, or a scooter, or a pulling harness, or even the ganglines. We
couldn’t find a retailer anywhere in Nova Scotia. Not anywhere East of Quebec!
Why not us? We decided to create a store for dog sports. Mushing sports, flyball, agility. Any gear to promote dog sports so we can help generate more dog joy.
